Why choose PPK?
Surveyor can use Phantom 4Pro for UAV mapping, but they need serival GCP(Ground control points ) to get more accuracy MAP. Those GCP must be measure by GNSS RTK and also the GCP points should cover the terrain feature points. So measure those GCP will take more time and money. Can we do something that do not need the GCP? This is the reason we design the PPK
The PPK (Post Processing Kinematics) on drone; A base station is set up with a known GNSS location along with a receiver also installed into the UAV. There is no need for the long range radio as no data needs to be swapped for real time position corrections. Instead, images are tagged during shutter operation with location data and after the mission is complete, this data along with the base station location are compared during the image processing stage and anomalies are then corrected to produce an accurate survey.
PPK is an adapter kit for Phantom 4 Pro/Advance. It is easily removed so you can still use your travel case. When P4 is taking a photo, meanwhile a time mark is recorded in the Gama log file.
